Domestic Dispute Turns Deadly
News

A police standoff ended in a murder suicide at an apartment in North Las Vegas Friday morning.

Police received a call about a domestic dispute around 5:30 a.m. in an apartment at the Craig Ranch Villas Apartment complex near Lone Mountain and Commerce.

"When the officers first got to the scene they made brief contact with a male who then retreated inside the home and fired upon them," said Sgt. Tim Bedwell, NLV Police.

The SWAT team was called and used flash grenades to see if they could force anyone out of the apartment.

"You know two eruptions like boom, boom. I dropped to the floor," said Reginald Scott, a neighbor.

A handful of residents were evacuated from the apartment complex during the nearly four hour ordeal.

When police did enter the apartment they did find the man and woman both dead. They say it will take at least a week to wrap up their investigation and determine if the deaths were due to a murder suicide.
