Crime

NORTH LAS VEGAS -- The 17-year-old male who was injured during the robbery at the Family Stop convenience store in North Las Vegas in late July died at UMC this weekend.

North Las Vegas Detectives were notified Sunday morning of his passing. The 17-year-old male was injured when he was hit in the head with an aluminum baseball bat. He has been identified as a Henderson resident who may be a Russian citizen.

On July 21, 2010, around 2:00 a.m., the suspect entered the store located on the 2000 block of Ann Rd., pointed what looked like a black handgun at the clerk and demanded money and cigarettes.

The clerk was doing as the suspect requested when two customers entered the store. As the robber turned to confront the customers the clerk pulled a bat from behind the counter and struck the suspect in the head.

The suspect suffered grave injuries which apparently have lead to his death.

No arrests have been made in this case and no charges have been filed.

Investigators are looking for persons with information regarding this suspect and his involvement in any valley robberies.

Anyone with information is urged to call the North Las Vegas Police Department at (702) 633-9111 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
