North Las Vegas Police says it needs the public's help in finding a possible witness to a crash that claimed the life of a North Las Vegas Police officer.
Detective Chad Parque was killed in a crash on Jan. 6 at the corner of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Carey Avenue. According to police, Detective Parque was on-duty and leaving the North Las Vegas Justice Court when he was hit by a driver going southbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard.
North Las Vegas Police said when the other driver entered the lanes of oncoming traffic, the 32-year-old detective's vehicle was struck head-on. Detective Parque died from his injuries at the hospital the next morning.
Officers said Wednesday that they're searching for the driver of a pickup truck seen in the area at the time of the crash. The vehicle is believed to be a black, full size, either Chevrolet or GMC pickup truck.
NLV Police said the driver might have been wearing a long sleeve tan shirt. Officers said the truck was seen passing through the parking lot of the North Las Vegas Justice Court and parking at the scene of the crash.
Investigators believe the driver and anyone in the vehicle at the time, may have valuable information which could aid the investigation.
