North Las Vegas firefighters save pet cat

Firefighters in North Las Vegas saved a pet cat by performing CPR on the animal after pulling it from a burning home on Friday.

The incident happened at 12:47 p.m. near Farrell Street and Washburn Road. Firefighters arrived on scene to a single story home on fire.

According to investigators, firefighters quickly extinguished the flames. A pet cat inside the home required pet CPR and was resuscitated. Firefighters say the cat is in good condition.

The two people that live at the home were not home at the time of the fire. The Red Cross is assisting the couple with housing and personal needs.

Fire investigators estimate the cost of the damage to the house is $100,000. The cause was determined to be electrical.
