Police arrest suspects wanted in 9 robberies, following crash

Suspects responsible for nine robberies crashed into a Metro Police car during a pursuit Tuesday morning near Owens Avenue and Mojave Road, police said.

Owens remains closed between Mojave and Lucilee Street as police investigate.

The crash happened around 4:44 a.m. when the suspects' vehicle failed to stop at at stop sign and crashed into the police car at Statz Street. A woman in the suspects' car was thrown from the vehicle and was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, police said. A man in the car ran into a nearby neighborhood but was arrested.

Metro took three people into custody and says they are looking for three more suspects. They say the group is responsible for nine robberies that occurred around the valley, including in North Las Vegas. Police say the victims were robbed in recent days at gunpoint on the street. In one case, a person was shot at.
