Baby Shower Planned for Military Moms | Charity
Title (Max 100 Characters)
It's one thing to be in the military and constantly moving around the country. It's something quite different to be pregnant while your spouse is overseas and you're left living in a community far away from family and friends.
That is how Operation Showers of Appreciation got started. It's a way to support those military families who need a good friend to throw them a baby shower when they need it most.
Again this year Operation Showers of Appreciation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, will be assisting more than 100 military moms with all the things they need as a new parent, or soon-to-be parent.
"To have the opportunity to support and lift up these mothers is just fantastic. It helps ensure moms have what they need and reassures deployed dads that their loved ones are cared for so they can focus on their mission," said Kimberly Felshaw, President of Operation Showers of Appreciation.
Members of the community are encouraged to help support these military families - all of whom live in the Las Vegas valley - by donating any new, unwrapped baby items and dropping them off at the valet at either the Cannery or Eastside Cannery casino through May 11.
