Three Schools Benefit from Target Program | Charity
The retail giant Target is providing millions of dollars to schools around the country. Three schools in southern Nevada will be benefiting from the program.
Target is giving out $15,000 in reading grants to Gragson Elementary and Fay Herron Elementary Schools. The funding is part of the Target School Library Makeover program. The schools have already received new libraries. The money will now be spent on new books for those libraries.
The company is also renovating the library at Whitney Elementary School. The school will be getting new books, furniture, carpeting and shelves. It will also get upgraded technology, including iPads. The school will also get a Target Meals for Minds food pantry. Whitney Elementary has been featured on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The retailer will be providing money to 150 in-need schools around the country. In all, the company plans on spending $12 million on schools.
