Neighborhood Cleanup Targets Area Hit by Foreclosures | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Volunteers will come together Saturday to clean up a North Las Vegas neighborhood.
Councilwoman Pamela Goynes-Brown will join residents to clean up the Delmonico from 8 a.m. to noon. Cleanup volunteers will meet near the corner of Martin Luther King Boulevard and June Street, just north of Carey Avenue.
The cleanup effort will consist of graffiti removal, red curb painting and litter removal.
The work will be followed by a free family reunion-style block party at Walker Park, 1509 June Street. The block party will feature food, games and prizes, while supplies last, donated by neighborhood businesses and nonprofit community partners.
The celebration will feature a community resource fair with exhibitors from social and family-oriented services.
The cleanup and celebration are intended to avoid neglect and blight in an area that has been hard hit by foreclosures.
