NLV Police looking for armed suspect in string of robberies | Crime
North Las Vegas Police are searching for a second man involved in a crime spree that ended in an officer-involved shooting Saturday morning.
According to police, officers were called to a convenience store near Ann Road and Clayton Street at around 3:30 a.m. on a report that two men had robbed the story at gunpoint. Witnesses told police the men had left the scene in a white SUV.
When an officer tried to stop them, the men got out of the car and ran. During the pursuit, a North Las Vegas Police officer shot one of the suspects. He was taken to University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
North Las Vegas Police identified the officer involved in the shooting as Officer Brian Krieger, 35, a six-year veteran of the department.
The second man was able to get away along with a person who was driving the SUV.
North Las Vegas Police have released video of the man they believe is the second armed suspect.
They also believe the two suspects are involved in three other armed robberies the same morning as the officer-involved shooting. In all of the robberies, the men were armed with a shotgun and a handgun. They threatened either the clerk or a customer or both. In one case, they struck a clerk in the head. In all four situations, they left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The second man police are looking for is described as a Hispanic or light-skinned African-American man about 5 foot 10 and 165 pounds. He was wearing a green shirt, long black shorts and white shoes. He was armed with a handgun.
