Metro Police Seek Suspect in Thursday Shooting

Metro Police need help finding a man suspected of shooting two people last week in the northeast part of the valley.

At approximately 8:21 p.m. on Thursday night, officers responded to an apartment complex located in the 3500 block of East Lake Mead Boulevard to investigate a report of gunshots in the area.

Officers found a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest, and a second male victim suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the ear. Both victims were transported to the U.M.C. Trauma Center by medical personnel, where the first victim was pronounced dead.

Metro Homicide Investigators have determined both the suspect and the victims in this case arrived at the apartment complex in the same vehicle. After all three individuals exited the vehicle, the suspect shot the victims, and then fled the area on foot. The motive for this shooting remains undetermined.

The suspect is described as a black male adult, 35 to 40 years of age, approximately 6-foot-1 tall and weighing approximately 220 pounds with braided black hair.

Anyone with any information concerning this crime is encouraged to contact the Metro  Homicide Detail at 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers by phone at 385-5555, or on the internet at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
