The College of Southern Nevada is conducting its 40th annual commencement ceremony Monday night at the Thomas & Mack Center. The ceremony starts at 6 p.m.
This year marks a record number of students who are eligible to get a degree or certificate. This year 2,321 students are eligible to graduate. That is nearly 750 more students than the 2005 to 2006 school year.
"Getting my associate degree means that I am starting to lay the foundation for my son and me to thrive on,” said CSN 2012 Student Commencement Speaker and Class of 2012 graduate Seria Larry.
Larry is a survivor of domestic violence, a student government representative, honors student and a single mother.
CSN offers more than 200 degree and certificate programs in more than 130 areas of study.
