Galaxy Theatres has finished its remodel of a theatre at Cannery Casino & Hotel to a Luxury+ theater.

The theater now features beer and wine, gourmet sausage bar and power reclining seats with footrests.

The first film to be featured in the upgraded theater will be "The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug."

Besides offering a unique experience for movie goers, the theater also offers upgraded visuals and sound, including high frame rate, RealD 3D.

The theater now offers all reserved seating and all stadium seating.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online at galaxytheatres.com or the same day at the box office. The theater also offers a smart phone app for show times, movie information and purchase tickets. The app is free.

The same company has a similar theater in Green Valley.

Newly Remodeled Luxury Theater

Newly Remodeled Luxury Theater

The newly renovated Galaxy Cannery Luxury+ Theater at the Cannery Casino and Hotel in North Las Vegas will debut Thursday with a showing of the new movie "Gravity."

The theater has been transformed to include fully-reclining cushioned seats with powered footrests, new Dolby sound system and a Digital Fusion Experience auditorium.

A DFX auditorium is a wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling 65-foot wide screen. The theater is also fitted with a high-frame rate 4K digital projector.

It is not just about the technology, the theater also features many additions for the moviegoers convenience, including stadium seating, reserved seating and extra-wide rows that allow patrons to pass in front without other people having to put their footrest down.

The same theater company transformed a theater in Henderson at the Green Valley Town Center shopping center to include some of the same amenities and serve alcohol.

Luxury Theaters Coming to North Las Vegas Movie Theater

The theater that successfully transformed a movie theater in Green Valley is expanding and is already bringing its luxury brand of movie-going to North Las Vegas.

Galaxy Theatres announced Friday it was upgrading the Galaxy Cannery Theatres, inside the Cannery Casino and Hotel.

The theaters will feature fully-reclining cushioned seats with powered footrests and snack tables. Tickets to the movie stay the same prices as regular theaters.

The theater will remain open to the public during the changeover. Crews started remaking the theaters Monday and are expected to finish in December.

Galaxy Theatres already transformed a theater along Sunset Road. The company says response from customers has been overwhelming.

Five-Casino Fireworks Display for Fourth of July

Five-Casino Fireworks Display for Fourth of July

One of the largest Fourth of July fireworks displays in Las Vegas will be put on by Station Casinos.

The nine minute show will feature fireworks shot off from the tops of five properties, including Aliante Station, Green Valley Ranch Resort, and Red Rock Resort. Texas Station and Fiesta Rancho will be a shared location.

Grucci Fireworks created and will shoot off the display. They are the same group responsible for the New Year's fireworks on the Strip. Planning for the show started eight months ago. It is timed to synchronize with music that will play on the following local radio stations: KKLZ 96.3 FM, KOAS 105.7 FM, KCYE 102.7 FM The Coyote, BOB FM 107.9 FM and KDWN AM720.

“If they have the song “Money,” you will see dollar signs. You will see everything that makes people go: ‘ooh and ahh’," Larry Goetz with Grucci Fireworks said.

The show is slated to start sometime after 9 p.m. Wednesday.
