NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. - North Las Vegas Police are investigating an attempted murder-suicide near Main Street and Owens Avenue.
The shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m. at the Vegas Verdes Motel. Police say a 54-year-old man was shot by another man following an argument over money. The victim was transported to University Medical Center and is in stable condition.
The shooter ran to a nearby auto repair business and shot himself. He died at the scene.
Authorities say the initial shooting may have been over drugs.
"This is unusual. Most murder-suicides involve couples," said North Las Vegas Police Sgt. Tim Bedwell. "That's not the case here. We don't even believe they are related."
Police have not released the names of either of these men.
