NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- The man accused of using a machete to attack his former girlfriend plans to plead guilty.
Vergara-Martinez appeared in North Las Vegas Justice Court Tuesday morning and waived his right to a hearing.
Woman Speaks Out About Brutal Machete Attack
The Clark County District Attorney's office confirms that 49-year-old Armando Vergara-Martinez said he wants to plead guilty. Police say Maria Del Carmen Gomez suffered wounds to her head and had both of her hands severed in the attack. Doctors were able to reattach her hands but she faces months of recovery.
