Coroner Identifies Woman Shot to Death by Police | News
LAS VEGAS -- The woman shot and killed by police has been identified as 49-year-old Sharmel Edwards from Las Vegas.
Woman Killed in Officer-Involved Shooting
Edwards was shot early Saturday morning near Jones Boulevard and Smoke Ranch Road. Police say she was in a stolen car, armed with a gun, and refused police commands. Metro Police say they shot Edwards after she pointed a gun at officers.
According to the Clark County Coroner's office, Edwards died from multiple gunshot wounds.
