Police Looking for Suspect in Woman's Murder


North Las Vegas Police are looking for a suspect in connection with the murder of a woman in August.

According to police, they are looking for Anthony Mayo for the murder of his wife Beverly McFarlane.

In a report released by police, McFarlane told police Mayo had beaten and chocked her during an argument. The couple's 9-year-old daughter told police that her mother was beaten with a vacuum cleaner.

Officers called to the scene report that McFarlane was difficult to understand and needed immediate medical attention.

McFarlane was taken to the hospital where she lingered for more than a week before dying from her injuries. The Clark County Coroner's Office ruled that McFarlane had died from massive injuries to her brain.

According to the criminal complaint, Mayo is being charged with murder, coercion and battery constituting domestic violence -strangulation.

McFarlane's family told 8 News NOW they had told the mother of three to leave the relationship several times, but she didn't.
