Safekey Ready for Back to School | Education & Schools
Clark County School District schools start Monday and so do Safekey programs.
The 22 Safekey sites in North Las Vegas are set to open on the first day of school, Monday, Aug. 29. Potential recreation center closures resulting from recently approved budget reductions will not affect Safekey operations.
Parents can register for Safekey now or attend Clark County School District open house events, where City staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide registration forms. Parents can register and pay their $5 enrollment fee at these events. Parents also can register online at www.cityofnorthlasvegas.com and at the Neighborhood Recreation Center, 1638 N. Bruce Street or Silver Mesa Recreation Center, 4025 Allen Lane.
Safekey is a recreational enrichment program for children, designed to meet the needs of the working parent. Safekey is staffed by trained recreation leaders. The program consists of an activity or game period, sports, arts and crafts, and special events. The Safekey program also operates various camps throughout the school year. This program corresponds with the Clark County School District calendar.
Elementary school sites with early bell times between 7:55 a.m. and 8 a.m. are the following: Antonello, Bruner, Scott, Goynes and Elizondo. All other elementary school Safekey sites will have standard bell times between 9 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.
