Boys and Girls Clubs Offer Summer Fun

For the first time in several years parents across the valley are struggling to find day time activities for their school age children. All schools are now on a nine month schedule which means most kids are out of class all summer with very little to do.

The Boys and Girls Clubs in southern Nevada are working to fill that void. The Summer Program this year offers several activities available at clubs around the Las Vegas Valley. It starts at $10 per child but the price varies depending on the location and activities. Most locations offer programs starting as early as 7 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Programs have started but there are still spaces available. Activities include art, crafts, field trips, sports, computers and more. Some clubs even offer free lunches for the kids.

The Summer Program is available at all five permanent Boys and Girls Clubs, including the new facility in Southern Highlands that opens on June 27, and two outreach partner programs.
