The new North Las Vegas SkyView Multi-Generational Center, which opens June 1, will be operated by the YMCA of Southern Nevada.

The recently completed 36,000-square-foot facility at 3050 E. Centennial Parkway is between Losee Road and N. Pecos Road south of the 215 Beltway.

Along with the YMCA-owned Bill & Lillie Heinrich YMCA, and Y-operated City of Las Vegas' Durango Hills and Centennial Hills Community Centers, the City of North Las Vegas SkyView Multi-Generational Center becomes the Y's fourth branch operation.

"This unique private-public partnership model gives us the opportunity to offer programs that support healthy living and youth development in North Las Vegas," said Mike Lubbe, YMCA president and CEO. "North Las Vegas constructed a stunning facility for its residents. We are thrilled to operate it and bring our trusted Y offerings to area families."

Highlights of the new center include a state-of-the-art wellness center with cardio equipment, circuit machines and dumbbells, an indoor swimming pool with lap lanes and lesson areas, and a dedicated child care room. Multiple studios provide a setting for a variety of classes, including yoga, Zumba, cycling, kickboxing, martial arts, pilates, aerobics and "Y-Kids," which are the Y's child-focused classes. Comforts and conveniences include fully equipped locker rooms, vending areas, and naturally lit gathering and relaxation areas with free Wi-Fi.

Individuals of every age, fitness and income level can benefit from the SkyView YMCA's amenities and programs in the areas of aquatics, wellness, sports, camps and family activities. The Y is a nonprofit organization, and no one is turned away because of an inability to pay. Financial assistance is available.

Throughout May, residents can tour the facility, register for summer day camp and purchase a Sizzlin' Summer joining pass, which provides four months of unlimited Y access for $109 (individual) or $209 (family). May hours are 8 a.m. to noon and 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The first 250 new members will receive a backpack filled with Y gear and over $150 in free offers, including a free wellness coaching session, and the choice of either a free week of day camp or a free swim lesson session.

Y Day Camp for kids ages 5 to 15 runs June 13 – August 26, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To accommodate parents’ schedules, the Y provides free care for campers from 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Camp includes weekly themes and structured activities like swimming, arts and crafts, group games and character development activities. Weekly camp prices start at $133, and a daily drop-in rate of $45 is available.
