Bradley Intersection at 215 to Close Permanently

A potential road closure that became the subject of much discussion is now scheduled.

Bradley Road will close in both directions at the northern 215 Beltway at 9 p.m. Sunday.

The intersection of Bradley and the beltway will never reopen, and instead a bridge will be built to carry Bradley over the beltway. The new Bradley bridge is expected to open by fall 2013.

The intersection of Bradley and 215 is between Jones and Decatur boulevards. In recent weeks, the intersections of Jones and the Beltway and Decatur and the beltway have both seen an increasing level of construction. Bridges and full highway interchanges with on- and off-ramps are being built at both of those locations.

The construction is part of a $116 million widening and improvement project. Las Vegas Paving is contracted to complete the work, which is expected to be finished by summer 2014.
