Decatur Construction to Slow Traffic for Two Months

Work to rebuild part of Decatur Boulevard near the North Las Vegas Airport will start Monday and continue for about two months.

Starting Monday, there will be construction on Decatur Boulevard, between Lake Mead Boulevard and Rancho Drive.

In order to accommodate weekday traffic, work hours will generally be 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. Because of noise concerns, there will also be some work activities during daytime hours.

At least two lanes in each direction will be kept open during peak morning and afternoon hours. During nighttime work, traffic may be restricted to one lane in each direction

Current work consists of removal and reconstruction of deteriorated areas of pavement, median island modifications for improved traffic flow, pavement grounding and resurfacing, and installation of new traffic markers. Preliminary work was completed earlier this year on sidewalk areas to help them meet federal Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. The estimated cost for this project is $1.5 million.

Jones Boulevard or Rancho Drive are available as alternate routes.
