Police Target Crosswalks for Pedestrian Safety

North Las Vegas Police will be targeting crosswalks around the city today in an effort to keep pedestrians safe.

Officers will focus on mid-block crosswalks in some of the most traveled streets in the city from 5 to 7 p.m. Police will be looking for drivers who don't stop for pedestrians. They'll also be looking for pedestrians that don't use the properly marked crosswalks.

The push is part of an effort launched by the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety to cut down on auto-pedestrian accidents.
