Bridge Work Forces I-15 Lane Closures

Work on the North 5th Street Bridge will again force the closure of several lanes of I-15.

From 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., both Wednesday and Thursday, several lanes of the freeway between Lake Mead Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue will be closed. Crews will be putting the concrete deck of the bridge in place and removing overhang.

The bridge is part of the $30 million North 5th Street arterial project, which will turn the street into a super arterial. The bridge part of the project is expected to be finished this spring.

Beltway Work to Cause Disruption Near Bradley Road

Continuing work on the northern portion of the 215 Beltway will cause some traffic disruption next week near Bradley Road.

All lanes on the beltway at Bradley Road will be shifted to direct traffic under the Bradley Bridge starting Thursday, Jan. 31. This lane shift covers about a half-mile of road along the beltway, and will be in effect for several months in order to complete the south approach for the new Bradley Bridge.

The entire project is expected to be finished by summer 2014.

Drivers Lose Lane along Decatur Boulevard at Northern Beltway

Construction has closed down one lane of Decatur Boulevard near the northern 215 beltway for the next seven days.

Drivers heading northbound on Decatur Boulevard had two through lanes at the 215 beltway intersection, starting Monday, it is down to one through lane. The left and right turn lanes are not impacted.

The closure is part of the massive road project going on along the beltway, which includes an interchange at Jones and Decatur boulevards and a Bradley Road Bridge to carry drivers over the beltway.

When the project is finished, drivers will be able to travel on more than seven miles of nonstop freeway from east of U.S. 95 all the way to Losee Road.

Road Closures Part of Sunday's Marathon

Road Closures Part of Sunday's Marathon

The Zappos.com Rock and Roll Las Vegas Marathon will cause the closure of several roads around southern Nevada Sunday.

The main route will be along the resort corridor starting at Mandalay Bay and through downtown Las Vegas. However, the race route for the full marathon goes as far north Martin Luther King Boulevard and Carey Avenue. The route also goes almost as far west as Rancho Drive and Carey Avenue, which is just south of the North Las Vegas Airport.

The closures along the Las Vegas Strip will make it difficult for drivers to travel from neighborhoods east of the Strip to the west.

Some closures start as early as 10 a.m. and last through 2 a.m. Monday. To see the route and the closure times, go to runrocknroll.competitor.com/las-vegas.

I-15 Lanes Restricted for Bridge Work

Work along the North 5th Street Bridge will force lane closures Tuesday night.

Crews will be closing the right lanes of northbound traffic on I-15 from Cheyenne Avenue to Lake Mead Boulevard from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday.

They will be installing a barrier rail along that section of the bridge. The section of the road is being improved to make North 5th Street an arterial.

The $30 million for the project is funded by the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada.
