NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The case against a man accused of child abuse and neglect following the death of a 3-year-old North Las Vegas girl is scheduled for a court hearing Wednesday.

Jondrew Lachaux faces three counts of child abuse and neglect with substantial bodily harm and one count of concealing evidence.

Police say Lachaux and his girlfriend, Kellie Phillips, left the 3-year-old for months in the care of Phillips' 17-year-old daughter, who police say also gave birth to Lachaux's child during his and Phillips' absence.

Police discovered the body of the 3-year-old while investigating an incident involving the teen's 4-month-old child. The child was taken to Sunrise Hospital.

The Clark County District Attorney's Office announced it will not charge the teen in connection with the case. Phillips also faces child abuse and neglect charges.
